At East Ryde Doctors, there is often talk about the importance of moving your body and staying active for both physical and mental health. Whether it's a challenging bushwalk, a scenic run, a daily stroll with the dog, or your favourite fitness class, moving your body is one of the best things you can do for your health.

We thought it would be fun to share some favourite places to get moving!

Practice Nurse, Pixie

Pixie loves line dancing for beginners. It's a fun way to stay active, learn new steps and meet new people. She enjoys the upbeat atmosphere and the fact that anyone can join in, regardless of experience.

Dr Sanjev Krishnamohan

A favourite bushwalk is the Riverside Walk in Lane Cove National Park. It's peaceful, scenic and a great way to unwind. For running, Sanjev loves the Parramatta River foreshore paths, where he has completed many of his training runs for half marathons.

Dr Greg Spark

Greg enjoys a healthy dose of friendly competition through squash and golf. Whether it's a fast-paced squash match or a relaxing round of golf, he appreciates the combination of exercise, strategy and time spent outdoors.

Practice Manager, Julia

Julia loves The Spit to Manly Walk. With its mix of bush tracks, harbour views, hidden beaches and waterfront boardwalks, it's one of Sydney's most rewarding walks. The scenery is spectacular from start to finish, with the added bonus of a few great coffee stops along the way!

Dr Elizabeth (Lily) Foster

Lily's favourite exercise is heading out for a run around the local neighbourhood before the rest of the world wakes up. She loves the peace and quiet of the early morning, watching the sunrise and enjoying a moment of calm before the day begins. It's a great way to clear the mind, get moving and start the day feeling energised.

Dr Donna Lau

Donna loves rock climbing. These days she's mostly found indoor bouldering, which fits in well with a busy schedule and is a great mix of strength, problem-solving and fun. When she gets the chance, though, she loves heading outdoors and climbing in the bush, enjoying both the challenge and the beautiful natural surroundings.

Dr Ingrid Schwarzer

Ingrid enjoys starting her day with a walk with her dog before dawn, when the streets are quiet and the day is just beginning. She also enjoys the challenge of squad training.

Dr Jacqui Krantz

Jacqui loves staying active with a bootcamp class and enjoys getting into the pool for a few lengths on the weekend. It's her favourite way to keep fit, unwind and recharge for the week ahead.

Receptionist, Lesley

Lesley loves starting the day with a sunrise walk alongside Gertie, her beautiful Golden Retriever. Watching the sun come up while enjoying the fresh morning air is one of her favourite ways to begin the day.

Receptionist, Sasha

Sasha loves spending her Sundays playing soccer with friends and starting her mornings with a good gym session. It's the perfect combination of fitness, fun and catching up with friends.

Dr Peter Barclay

Peter loves walking the family Bordoodle, keeping active at the gym, and whenever possible, heading off on hiking adventures with the kids in the Blue Mountains or Barrington Tops. It's the perfect mix of family time, fitness and enjoying the great outdoors. 🐾⛰️🥾🌿
