Dr Donna Lau is a highly experienced, warm, and thorough general practitioner who places patient-centred care at the heart of her practice. She balances her time between comprehensive family medicine at East Ryde Doctors and special interest GP roles in leading reproductive and sexual health clinics, including Clinic 66 in Chatswood and Family Planning NSW.

Donna is passionate about empowering individuals through safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care. She focuses on building long-term, trusting partnerships with her patients to support both their physical and mental wellbeing holistically.

​

Alongside her clinical practice, Donna is dedicated to medical education, mentoring and professional clinical development. She teaches medical students from University of Sydney and Macquarie University where she holds the title of Honorary Associate Lecturer.

Donna is an accredited continuation prescriber of ADHD medication and is also a member of the Australasian Menopause Society.

• Women’s, Sexual & Reproductive Health: Expert management of complex menstrual disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and Polyendocrine Metabolic Syndrome (PMOS, formerly PCOS), sexual dysfunction, perimenopause and menopause and contraception care.

• Men’s Health: Comprehensive men’s health care including preventative health checks, sexual and reproductive health, erectile dysfunction, prostate health, cardiovascular and metabolic risk assessment, mental health, and age-related health concerns.

• Antenatal, Postnatal & Infant Support: Provider of accredited GP Shared Antenatal Care, continuing through to comprehensive postnatal recovery, breastfeeding support, and infant health.

• Metabolic Health: Proactive metabolic health support, including weight management, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, diabetes, cholesterol and other metabolic disease issues.

• Procedural Medicine: Highly experienced in Intrauterine Device (IUD/Mirena) insertions and removals, skin excisions , iron infusions as well as performing vasectomies.

• Mental Health: Providing patient-centred, trauma - informed care for anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, eating disorders, gender issues, relationship difficulties and other mental health concerns, including assessment, Mental Health Treatment Plans and ongoing support.

• Neuro-affirming care (ADHD, ASD & other Neurodivergence): Provision of safe and validating care - initiating investigations and assessments, ongoing advocacy and support as well as continuation prescribing for ADHD medications.

• Paediatrics: Experienced in childhood developmental checks, immunisations, and general paediatric and adolescent health.

Outside of medicine, Donna loves the great outdoors. She enjoys rock climbing, hiking, camping, and scuba diving with her husband and two children.
